Hey folks,
Been an eventful day here in Fortress Of Apathy, getting the 2nd show out was emotional to say the least :) Lots of little quirky problems but I suppose it's all part of the learning curve, only ep 2 so hopefully by the time we hit double figures (if we hit double figures) I'll have it down to a fine art. I have 2 PCs here, a studio PC that I use for recording all my music which is currently in pieces on the floor and my main desktop PC that I use for everything else which doesn't even have a dedicated sound card. Guess which one I'm using to do the podcast at the moment?.... A clue, it's not the one with all the expensive audio gear on it, I think you can tell when you listen :D
So I think my main job for the next week or so is getting that sorted out so I can record the show in decent quality and also record the theme tune properly as well. The weedy little acoustic intro is only a temporary thing for now, it will rock... oh yes it will rock. It does in my head anyway :P
I added some show notes to the podcast page with some vids and extra info related to the stuff on the show so check that out if you haven't already. Another thing I learned today is that you should create the HTML for your show notes before uploading the show and not afterwards when everyone is going "where's the show notes? I listening to the show right now!!" a good one to remember I think. I'm impressed with Drupal though I have to say, I can upload my file via FTP and then use the audio module to import it into Drupal, it creates the audio node for me, puts it into the podcast feed and even rips the ID3 tags from the file to get all the info it needs. Cool hey? All I do then is go to the new podcast page in the browser and add the information for the show notes. Very cool piece of kit I have to say.
I feel I'm still only scratching the surface with Drupal. I have a lot to learn. The site has a long way to go but considering less than a month ago all this started by accident in one crazy Jaiku conversation, I think we're doing pretty well.
Till the next time, take care Feeble friends... same Cloud time, same Cloud channel ;)
